"Dealing with the Impact of Long-Term Unemployment"

September 4, 2013 (first Wednesday of the month)
1 – 2 p.m. EST

No charge to attend; but you must be a Professional Member of the Career Professionals of Canada. *

Many clients are reeling as a result of a lengthy recession. Jobs are not as easy to find and keep as they were in earlier years. By the time some clients come to us for advice, we may find that they have already had to deal with an exceptionally lengthy job search.

We’ll discuss the following questions during our session:
  • How do you help your clients to move forward and secure employment after a lengthy job search?
  • How do you help them build their self-esteem and confidence?
  • How do you engage a client that is having a difficulty gaining motivation and momentum?
  • How do you address peripheral concerns such as lack of income and family support?
  • Can you suggest resources to help dealing with the stress, anguish, and despair associated with a long term of unemployment?

* A benefit of membership in the Career Professionals of Canada, the Professional Member Tele-Networking session is open to Professional Members of the association only. Tele-networking is a conference call between Professionals Members of Career Professionals of Canada. Each session is delivered in a teleconference format using a bridge telephone line. If you have a phone, you have everything that you need to join the class.

Session topics are selected and outlined in advance with a series of 5 related questions to get participants “brainstorming.” If you are a Professional Member of the Career Professionals of Canada, you are invited to join your colleagues to openly discuss the given topic in a round-table format – asking questions and sharing ideas. Session registration for PROFESSIONAL MEMBERS is free. Depending on your location, long distance charges may apply. Participants are encouraged to register early to reserve their spot.
